Virtual Communities

Virtual Communities

On the internet, there are many different virtual communities around. They're all varying, from social networking sites, to something such as YouTube. Most websites have their own community, that are fans of that webpage, or use it in everyday life. Online communities allow people to communicate with different people, and to discuss anything. They're also a great way to make friends, and share information easily, as well as being able to communicate in a great way.

  1. Gaming is another example of online communities and they are becoming very popular. Gaming is for many ages and brings a lot of people together. Gaming can involve x-box live, PlayStation and computer games.

  2. I agree this is great for the virtual environment due to the fact you can meet people from all over the world and you find new things. However this can be a bad thing as people can talk to you that you don't know on some of the sites like twitter for example and they can see your personal details without your consent.

  3. I agree with this post. there are different ways in which a person can interact with people. in some ways the people you are talking to may be not who you are expecting or they may well be the person you want to talk to. the ways in which people interact with people on these sites such as Facebook and YouTube you can talk to friends or just comment on people you don't know.

  4. I have read the comments that people have done, and I now know a lot more about virtual communities. For a start, gaming has many different communities, on all different formats, such as PC, PS, or Xbox. Also, you can meet people from all over the world on these online communities, but can meet bad people, that can view your personal details etc. Furthermore the people who you think you're talking to on online communities, may not be who you think they are, and as a result, can be a tarrying and confusing thing to use.
